Nemi, July 1, 2014: The New Leadership (Provincials, Regionals and Mission - PRM superiors) workshop was dedicated to meeting with the SSpS leadership team today.
The SSpS General Council was represented by Srs. Pauline Pereira, Judith Vallimont, Stella Parmisano from the outgoing council and sr. Maria Cristina Avalos, reelected during the last chapter. In the first session the sisters shared about their General Chapter that took place last April, 27<sup>th</sup> to May, 31<sup>st</sup> in their mother house in Steyl, Netherland. During the Chapter they had the visit of the SVD Father General Heinz Kulueke and two other representatives of the SVD Generalate that stayed there during the first part of the Chapter, the Mission Secretary Lazar Thanuzraj and the General JPIC Coordinator, Daisuke Narui. One of the translators was also an SVD, Sonny de Rivera.
An important moment of the Chapter was the time they devoted to discuss the leadership and relevance of Sr. Maria Theresia Messner, their first superior general. After being novice master for 9 years, she became general superior and spent a lot of time visiting the sisters all over the world in order to be in touch with the local communities. In spite of her sickness, she went to the field and encouraged all the sisters to live their internationality in the spirit of the Gospel.
The theme of the Chapter was “Empowered by the Spirit, sharing good news among people”andtheir approach is"Jesus' mission, our mission."The methodology used was storytelling in different levels: stories, learning from stories and insights. The process of preparation was done at the individual, communitarian and provincial/regional level.The Congregational Direction identified JPIC dimension as a constitutive dimension for their mission, with the following motto for the next 6 years: “Toward the communion with God, with marginalized and excluded, with creation, within our congregation and with others.” The second part of the meeting was devoted to a sharing about what is going on regarding collaboration between the two congregations (SSpS and SVD), what is good and what could be improved. The sisters stayed with us during the Eucharist and lunch. During the celebration the following reflection on the Gospel was shared.
<b>Equipo General de Liderazgo SSpS comparte con los nuevos líderes de la SVD </b>
El 1º de Julio, el taller de Liderazgo SVD (Superiores Provinciales, Regionales,de Misión) se dedicó a un compartir con el equipo de liderazgo de las hermanas SSpS. El Consejo General SSpSestuvo representado por las Hnas. Pauline Pereira, Judith Vallimont, Stella Parmisano del Consejo saliente y la hna. Maria Cristina Ávalos, reelegida en el último capítulo. En la primera parte del intercambio las hermanas compartieron acerca de su Capítulo General, que tuvo lugarentre el 27 de abril y el 31 de mayo pasado en su casa madre en Steyl, Holanda. Durante el Capítulo ellas contaron con la visita del Padre General SVD Heinz Kulueke y dos representantes del Generalato SVD que se quedaron con ellas durante la primera parte del Capítulo, el Secretario de Misión Lazar Thanuzjaj y el Coordinador General de JPIC, Daisuke Narui. Uno de los traductores fue también un Verbita, Sonny de Rivera.
Un momento importante del Capítulo fue el tiempo que dedicaron a discutir el liderazgo y su actualidadhoy de la Hermana Maria Theresia Messner, la primera superiora general. Después de haber sido maestra de novicias durante 9 años,fue elegida superiora general y dedicó mucho de su tiempo a visitar a las hermanas en todo el mundo con el fin de estar en contacto con las comunidades locales. A pesar de su enfermedad, mantuvo contacto con las bases y animó a todas las hermanas a vivir su internacionalidad en el espíritu del Evangelio.
El tema del Capítulo fue<strong> “Con la Fuerza del Espíritu Santo, compartimos Buenas Nuevas entre los pueblos” y su enfoque fue “La misión de Jesús, nuestra misión”.</strong>La metodología utilizada fue la narración de cuentos en diferentes niveles: cuentos, aprendizajes y conocimientos. El proceso de preparación se hizo a nivel individual, comunitario y provincial/regional. La Orientación Congregacional identificó la dimensión de JUPIC como una dimensión constitutiva de la misión de las hermanas, con el siguiente lema para los próximos 6 años: "Hacia la comunión con Dios, con los marginados y excluidos, con la creación, con nuestra congregación y con los demás”.
La segunda parte de la reunión se dedicó a un intercambio sobre lo que está pasando con respecto a la colaboración entre Verbitas y las SSpS, lo que es bueno y lo que podría mejorarse. Las hermanas se quedaron con nosotros durante la Eucaristía y el almuerzo. Durante la celebraciónse compartió la siguiente reflexión sobre el Evangelio.
