Indore, India: A Medical Camp was organized at Janivkas Kendra on 26th June 2014 from 11am to 3pm. The camp was organized in collaboration with Index Medical College and Research Center, Indore.

Rome, June 29, 2014: All the participants of the new Provincials Workshop of the SVDs (Society of the Divine Word) along with the Generalate and the Nemi staff celebrated the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul at the Domitilla Catacombs, Rome. Fr. Robert Kisala, SVD, the Vice General was the main celebrant.

It was in 2007 when I was assigned to Kichijoji Church in Tokyo. One of the things I took charge of was a Bible class for beginners. A young man in his early 30’s came into the room, silently sat down, finished the class and, with only his name known to us, quietly left.

Mr. Guido Tallone, an expert in educational processes concerning “parents in dialogue”, has offered his services for free to moms and dads. In these meetings, they can get guidance on how to deal with relational situations and issues pertaining to family environment.

The University Pastoral Center (UPeCe) of Saint Joseph Freinademetz in Bratislava celebrated 20 years of existence this month. It was during the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop Stanislav Zvolenský, Archbishop of Bratislava on the occasion of the opening of the academic year.

Two big events of the youth were held in the Divine Word Missionaries (SVD) parishes of St. Fidelis Dolok Sanggul of the North Sumatera District and St. Francis Xavier Parish Meliau of the West Borneo District (Indonesia) on 17-19 June 2017 and 30 June-July 2 respectively.

When a person just comes across the Zambezi River at the border of Zambia and Botswana, one can see a place called Kasane where thousands of tourists come every year from all over the world to visit nature and the animals and go for safaris. Unfortunately, the people living in the area are faced with difficulties and challenging realities.

Adolescent girls from different slums of Indore city gathered at Janvikas to participate in the summer camp. The day was filled with lot of activities coupled with fun. 50 girls from different slums participated in various competitions like Drawing and Painting, Rangoli and Mehandi designing.

On Saturday 10th August 2014, a group of 21 international students together with Father Avin visited the Parish of Adreas-Peter and Paul located in Maasluis West. This parish is one of the churches that father Avin is the overseeing priest. The students travelled to Schiedam where they were joined by father Avin and later proceeded to Maasluis West.

A Divine word missionary, Fr.Dr.Avin Kunnekkadan SVD is working for international students in the Netherlands. I shall share my personal mission experience as an international student chaplain in the university campus. I hope that my sharing will help you to get some insight into international student chaplaincy mission (ISC) which for many students is a place of hope and a home away from home.

More than two weeks ago a group of 12 young men began their journey from Bratislava to Rome on bicycles. Accompanied by Fr. Milan Bubak SVD, their parish priest in Petrzalka, suburb of Bratislava, they have managed to ride about 1300 kilometers across Austria and Italy.

The mission secretariat usually organizes Easter Youth framed in the context of the new evangelization. This is usually during the Easter Week, experiencing death and passion of Jesus in a youthful atmosphere and reflection.

University Pastoral Centre of St. Joseph Freinademetz in Bratislava is a success story of the Slovak province. Established in 1997, the Centre has prepared the young generation with responsibilities in transforming society.

This year we are celebrating the Foundation Day of our Society in a unique and unusual way. The crisis caused by Covid-19 does not stop us from celebrating this day that is very dear to us. More than ever, we have all the reasons to thank God, who has been closely accompanying our Congregation, also during this crisis.

Our Society was born out of a crisis that confronted the Church in Germany prompted by a pervading political situation in that country. This situation of crisis offered an opportunity for creativity, for bringing out something new. Saint Arnold responded to those who were questioning his initiative to start a missionary congregation, saying, "We live in a time when much is collapsing, and new things must be established in their places." Trust in the Lord was Saint Arnold's habitual response to crises.

Nemi (Rome), June 22, 2014: The workshop for the new Provincials of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) began today with the Holy Eucharist presided by Fr. Heinz Kuluke, the Superior General and concelebrated by the four Zonal Coordinators.
